22weeks!

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

What a surprise package from Sarah! She sent Coffee beans for Justin and I with toasted coconut which I like. I can't believe that she was here with us and now back to her place. She also sent thank you cards for all our family and friends that she met in Korea. God's goodness flows through her life that I feel honored and want to praise Him.

I feel very pregnant!

Somebody(Justin..) put some air in my stomach. My belly is getting very big and heavy. I feel very pregnant and am also feeling baby movements.

Seoul Sunset

I enjoyed the beautiful sunset colors that were displayed in the sky as we were heading back home after the service and meeting. This winter has been really cold. Yet there is something special about it, so I personally like winter season.

happy Birthday Mom!

We were celebrating my Mom's 59th birthday. It has been a while that I got to be with her on her birthday. I was always away from home. My mom was so happy that we were there for her and with her this year! She is a woman of faith and prayer! I am very privileged to have her as my mom.

Personal Touch

Justin received this handmade birthday card from his Mom(Teresa). It was very sweet of her and good to see her personal touch. I always appreciate someone's creativity and effort.

Taste

We made pancakes. It was good since we have not had this for a while. Mom gave me a Pomegranate. It was absolutely enjoyable. I was thinking, God knew how we will taste those things that He created. Everything reflects His goodness. I appreciate our taste buds that can taste all kinds of food.

Itaewon

After our doctor's appointment for the baby, we went to Itaewon (also known as "little America"). The doctor told us that the baby is very active and healthy. I was very thankful and we were happy to hear about it. We had Thai' food for lunch. It's our first Thai food since we came to Korea. I miss this!

Sweet gift

We got a package from Victoria (Sis-n-law from Florida) today. It was so sweet to receive "what to expect when you are expecting" book, a little cute giraffe and a funny card. It encouraged Justin and I very much! Thank you Mike and Victoria!

20weeks

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)

He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

19weeks

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

Sarah Wisner's visit to korea

Finally, Sarah arrived on 27th of Dec. 2010. She got a ticket before we came to Korea. It was very nice to have Sarah who came from our Sawyer MI home. We went to Seoul, Suncheon, Yeosu, Deajeon and Pyeongtack. Our family and friends were such a blessing to us as we travel around. Praise God that she did so well with jetlag. She left to the states on Jan. 2nd of 2011. We had a great time as we ended our year and started our new year together!
